Child Health Services
The CHDC offers comprehensive child health care and developmental services for newborn, early childhood, school children and adolescents.
The CHILD HEALTH CARE services operate on the principles of 3Ps ( Prevention of Disease, Promotion of Health & Prompt Treatment)
Prevention is better than cure : Prevention of diseases is offered through promotion of breastfeeding, complementary feeding, immunizations against vaccine preventable diseases, early childhood development, child safety, anticipatory guidance and counseling
Promotion of Health : Growth monitoring, Newborn screening, early diagnosis of anemia, development delays, promotion of healthy nutrition and lifestyle
Prompt Treatment : Emergency primary care; multidisciplinary referrals for secondary and tertiary care in top hospitals of National Capital region of Delhi
Child Developmental Services
Every child needs Developmental surveillance and screening for early diagnosis and intervention of children with developmental delays and disorder.
A newborn health screening, vision and hearing assessment is a must for all newborns. Developmental stimulation and periodic developmental assessment are a must.
Besides a Developmental pediatricians, the CHDC offers the services of the following multidisciplinary professions; Child clinical psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Speech and language therapist, Special Educator, Play therapist & Counseling.
The CHDC also have nurses, medical social worker, physician assistant and dedicated support staff
Family Health Services
The CDHC provide Family Health Services to parents, grand parents and close relatives of children who visit the CHDC. A healthy family is essential to take care of healthcare needs of children. Even Adult needs Vaccinations to prevent them from getting communicable diseases.
Moreover, the sick children can transmit infection to adults within their family. The needs of vaccinations varies in different age groups: Young mothers can benefit by taking Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine which prevent them against cervical cancer. Moreover, young parents frequently eat out with their children. They should protect themselves by taking life saving Typhoid conjugate vaccine (TCV).
Every year seasonal Influenzae and swine flu vaccine is needed by young and old. The senior citizens and adult older than 50 years should take Pneumococcal vaccine to protect themselves against serious pneumococcal disease such as pneumonia and meningitis. Tdap Vaccine protects against Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis( whooping cough).
The CDHC Founder & Medical Director, Dr. Rajeev Seth was trained as an undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate ( MD Pediatrics) at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) New Delhi. He completed his US residency in Pediatrics from the University of California San Francisco(UCSF) & a post doctoral fellowship, Division of Neonatology & Pediatric Pulmonology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, USA. He was awarded the Sorel Catherine Freyman Prize for being the best postgraduate in Pediatrics at AIIMS( 1987); Certificate of Merit for his Dissertation by AIIMS( 1988);McAllister Foundation Fellowship & National Institute of Health( NIH) USA. After almost 10 year of training and work experience, Dr Seth left USA and returned to India to follow his inner call to serve the child health needs of children in India.Dr Rajeev Seth is an US trained American Board Certified Pediatrician, with over 40 years of experience in clinical pediatrics, with subspeciality interests in Developmental Pediatrics, Newborn & Lung diseases. Dr Seth remains a passionate social pediatrician; a trusted partner for parents and caregivers in nurturing the health, growth, and overall development of their children. His work is recognised at the National Level as the past Chair of Indian Child Abuse Neglect & Child Labour (ICANCL) group, where he remains committed to realise Child Rights for all children in India.
He has proven leadership skills and leads a team of multidisciplinary professionals at CHDC which includes Nurses, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational & Physical Therapist(OT/PT), Special Education. Speech and Language Pathologist, Medical Social Workers and Physician Assistant. Dr Rajeev Seth was elected National Vice President of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP)( 2023). The IAP is sole representative professional body of Pediatricians in India with 44000 member pediatricians Currently as its National Coordinator, Dr Seth is leading a program “Prevention of Violence Against Children (PVAC) program, which is providing training and education in the field children rights and protection to medical doctors, multidisciplinary professionals, teachers, caregivers, parents and children nationwide.
